Protec's Nile Ranger praised by Joe Kinnear at Newcastle United
Former Protec student Nile Ranger, 17, has been praised by interim Newcastle United manager Joe Kinnear who is following his progress closely. Kinnear said: "Ranger put in a great performance the other day for the reserves. He has been great in training as well - he is certainly one for the future and he is making rapid progress. If he keeps making rapid progress we could have a very good player on our hands." Kinnear is a known talent-spotter having nurtured Warren Barton, John Scales, Robbie Earle and Dean Holdsworth.
