ELITE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
Due to the ongoing success of the development centre in association with Reading F.C Academy our training nights are being extended with additional evening sessions for all age groups, this is an invitation only session for all players that are on our advanced player programme see your coach for further details.
Head coach Pete Edwards looks at Ajax Youth system
Protec head coach Pete Edwards and assistant Dan Edwards were invited to spend time at the Ajax coaching and performance centre in Holland with a view to furthering our relationship with the Dutch premier league side. During the Last 5 months Protec has embraced and used the new coaching and training methods devised by the Ajax academy with great success, seeing a number of our players develop and come through to sign for premier and league clubs this season.
Pete said this was a very valuable and informative time for us being able to looking first hand at all of the age group training from age 8 to the first team. The training and development system that has been put in place over the last year at Ajax is producing some of the best young talent in Holland and hopefully will continue to do the same for us.
|Randall James, Arun Melville and Redon Gashi are all starting trials with Leyton Orient Academy after a successful season playing with Protec Academy and attending our development centre on Friday evenings, and will update their progress.|
Three Protec Development squads played against the Reading Royals Academy over the Easter break. Demonstrating their talent in front of Reading Academy head coach with a view to being selected for trial.
16 Year old Gibson Pasma who played in the
u18 Protec Elite team at Reading Development has trialled with
Watford FC. Gibson who attended the Development Centre
and played in numerous games for the clubs U16 Academy side will
go on trial with the Hornets U16 squad with a view to being
given a Y.T.S if successful, good luck from all at Protec
|Marty Gage earned himself a trial with Ipswich Town U10s. Marty who trains on a Friday evening in the Development Centre impressed the Ipswich Town scouts at a recent game and has been offered an extended trial with the Academy U10 side.|

|Yaw Turkson has signed for Reading Royals FC Academy, Yaw joined the London Development Centre 3 months ago and impressed the staff with his rapid improvement enough to be sent for trials. He reaped the benefits of his hard work and joins seven other players signed from the London Development Centre.|
|Micheal O'Donogue who trialed and played for Reading FC Academy squad after being recommended by Protec. Micheal continued to train at the Protec Development Centre and went on to sign a two year Y.T.S contract with Colchester United, he is now playing regular U21 and reserve team football with the league one club.|

|Jordan Goodridge will be signing a contract Reading FC Academy U14s after our showcase game at our London Development Centre where a number of scouts from Premiership and Championship clubs attended. More news on Jordan and others on trial to follow.|
|Blesk joins Reading Academy.|
|Blesk Epinyong attended our Harrow Progression Centre and his talent was noticed immediatley and he was sent to Reading FC Academy on trial. He was signed after one training session for the under nine squad and he will now be playing against other premier league sides including teams like Arsenal and Manchester United. Well done from all the team at Protec|
|Scott signs at Crawley FC.|
|Scott Melville who signed a contract with Crawley Town F.C after attending and playing at the Protec Development Centre has made a first team appearance in the cup for the club. Scott who attended our Friday night Development Centre went on to trial and secure a Y.T.S with the first division club and is now regular in the under 18 squad and scoring in a number of games. Well done from all at Protec.|

|Head of recruitment Colin Barnes paid a visit to the London Development Centre on Friday and selected a further five players to go on trial at the Reading FC Royals Academy, he was impressed by the standard of players on show and took immediate decision to invite the boys in, we will keep you updated on all boys that are currently on trial, and their names will appear here soon . |Diago signs for Premiership Club|
|16 year old Diago Ferrera has signed for premiership club Reading F.C. After completing a six week trial and the performance in his last game against Arsenal was enough to convince Academy director Eamonn Dolan to sign him. He will now start full time training in the Reading F.C Academy, congratulations from all at Protec.|

|In 2012 Reading co-ordinator Geoff Mills and London Scout Paul Roach chose 20 players in various age groups for trials with Reading FC Academy. Geoff and Paul regular visitors to the London Development centre, run exclusively by Protec. |Boys attending our full time education and Football Development Programme have been top of the Southern Counties League for more than 4 months! An excellent run of performances in the league and good cup preformances against good opposition has seen a number of boys progress.|
Protec have now launched their ladies team training for age groups 13-16,
Sessions will be taken by our U.E.F.A trained Arsenal and England ladies
team player Gemma Davison who recently returned from playing in the
American premier league. She returns to Arsenal Ladies for a fourth spell,
having first joined the Club’s Centre of Excellence as a teenager and will
be looking to build on a record of 19 goals in 44 appearances for Laura
Vic Akers said: “We’re delighted to welcome Gemma back to the Club. She will bring an additional attacking threat to the team and great experience from her time in the US - her return is a great boost to the whole squad.
