Peter Edwards, the
head coach at the academy, said: “I am stunned by
what has happened and we send our heartfelt
condolences to his family who have suffered another
terrible tragedy.”
“Oliver was a fine lad. He had a happy
nature and he was doing very well at his studies and
his football. “He was strong central midfielder but he
had a good attitude and would play anywhere I asked
him to. It’s such a waste of a bright young life.”
Paul Fairclough, the Barnet manager
described him as “a talented player and a pleasant,
unassuming young man, like a big teddy bear.”
Protec Sport who run Barnets FC u18's
side are looking for additional players, you must be
u18 this season and played at a minimum County or
Club level. This is a full time position , non
contract and all applicants must attend full
time college with Protec.
Protecs Nile Ranger on bench for
Newcastle United FC in the Carling Cup 3 - 2 win
against Coventry
Under 15 Protec player Bryn Edwards made his
Barnet FC U18 debut as a substitute against Hayes.
He is the youngest Protec player to have represented
Barnet at U18 . Also making their debut's were
Thomas Martens and Lawrence Burton well done to all.
Protecs Phil Carpenter gets a contract at
Barnet FC. Phil has been given a one year deal as
second goalkeeper with Barnet FC. Well done and
congratulations from all at Protec
Former
Protec student Nile Ranger
signs a 2 year Professional contract with Newcastle
FC. Nile Ranger an English
footballer
playing for the Newcastle United youth team. It was
announced on
Sky Sports News
on August 8th 2008 that the young footballer had
signed for Newcastle United after being released
from his old club
Southampton F.C..He
will most likely be playing for the Newcastle United
reserve team in the upcoming 2008/2009 season.

Protecs Marcus Rose competing in the Nike Most Wanted
reaches the final stage. Marcus is one of the last 22
players in the competition. The competition
originally started with 1200 other hopefuls. The next stage is a
coaching session with Sir Alex Ferguson in
Manchester.
Luke Medley, Joe Tabiri, Elliot Charles and
Daniel all play against Arsenal. Medley driving a
shot just wide and Elliot Charles causing endless
problems for the gunners who eventually sealed a
late goal to beat the bee's 2 -1 well done to all.
Congratulations to Protec U18 player Ben
Long who signed a 2 year Pro Contract for Scottish
Premier League club Hearts** Ben played his part in
a recent match for the Hearts U19 side.

Keyline Cup

Luke Medley returns to Barnet
FC and signs a 2 year Pro Contract. After
leaving Protec for
Tottenham Hotspur FC and then
Bradford City FC Luke Medley returns to Barnet FC on
a two year deal.
JoeTabiri has spent 3 years with Protec and now the
hard work has paid off with a
two year professional contract at Barnet FC. Joe has
been one of our most
exemplary lads leaving to become a pro with a full
set of top academic
qualifications as well. Our second is Protec's
youngest ever professional
signing Elliott Charles has been at Protec for two
years played at all
levels in his second year to earn a full time 3 year
contract with Barnet FC.
Well done to both from all at the school.
Protec
players playing in the Barnet under 18’s squad on
Saturday, won against probably the best opposition in
the football league youth alliance. With fantastic
performances from Alex Beiri, Ben Long and sixteen year
old Adam Moss. A goal in the last 15 minutes by Ben Long
sealed the sides 1 - 0 win, the team made up of all
Protec academy players have now taken their home
unbeaten run to six this season. Well done to all keep
up the good work.
