Rising Stars

Two years ago Londoner Ajet Shehu was accepted into the Protec Academy. After playing just one game Ajet was offered trials at three different clubs - Reading FC, Watford FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC. He signed a two year professional contract with Tottenham FC.

Joe Tabiri spent 3 years at Protec Football Development School and is now a professional player under a two year contract with Barnet FC. Pete Edwards said: "Joe has been one of our most exemplary lads leaving Protec to become a pro with a full set of top academic qualifications as well."

Steve Morison, spent three years at the Protec Football Development School and was originally signed to a professional contact with Northampton Town FC. He is now scoring regularly for Conference side Stevenage Borough. Pete Edwards said: "Steve has gone on to make a very successful career in non-league football but is still catching the eye with his scoring in almost every game for Borough this season."

Derek Asamoah, aged 19 Derek signed for Northampton town as a pro in 2003. A talented centre forward he moved to Shrewsbury FC in 2006 and signed for French Club Nice in 2007.

Ben Long who signed a 2 year Professional Contract for Scottish Premier League Club Hearts. Formerly a Protec U18 player, Ben played his part in a recent match for the Hearts U19 side.

Congratulations to Staff Members Director Mair Edwards and Assistant Head Coach Craig Maskell after all their hard work graduating at Middlesex University with teaching degrees. Well done to both!

Elliot Charles spent two years at Protec before he signed to Barnet FC in 2008 with a two year professional contract. He has already made two first team appearances and causes any defence difficulties with his ability in the air and speed off the mark.

Joe Devera joined Barnet FC from Protec three years ago and is now in the first team. Joe won Barnet"s Player of the Year award last season for his consistently excellent performance in defence. He is good in the air and rarely, if ever, outpaced, having won the title of fastest man at the Club after a series of sprint races at the training ground. Joe wins challenges on the ground or in the air and then makes good use of the ball out of defence.

Chris Casey spent a year at Protec and signed to Tottenham Hotspur FC in 2007/2008. The Watford-born defender "enjoys the buzz of doing well and winning games".
