Diago signs for Reading FC

An impressive 6 week trial and a solid performance in a match against Arsenal FC Academy, Reading FC's academy director Eamonn Dolan agrees to sign 16 year old Diago Ferrera. Congratulations from all at Protec.


Scott signs for Crawley

Scott Melville signed a contract with Crawley Town F.C after attending and  playing at the Protec Development Centre. He has already made a first team appearance in the cup for the club.  Scott who attended our Friday night Development Centre went on to trial and secure a Y.T.S with the first division club and is now regular in the under 18 squad and scoring in a number of games. Well done from all at Protec

Steve Morison

Steve Morison spent two years with Protec before signing a 2 year deal with Northampton Town FC. He was released and went back into non-league football where he played for then conference side Stevenage Borough. After two excellent seasons Steve signed a two year professional contract with Millwall. Steve signed for Norwich City for an undisclosed sum in 2011 which realised his dream of playing in the Premiership come true

Nile Ranger

Protec’s Nile Ranger shows spectacular pace and power. The London born striker impressed at Southampton FC and was signed by Newcastle United FC Academy in 2008. In 2009 Nile signed professional contract with Newcastle United FC and has made over 50 first team appearances.

Mark Nwokeji

Mark Nwokeji a former England schoolboy 200-metre champion spent two years with Protec Football Academy. Mark began his career in youth football with Charlton and Colchester and has played for various non-League sides notably Walton & Hersham, in 2006 moved to Staines Town, where he scored 45 goals in 75 appearances. In 2008 he signed with Dagenham & Redbridge, however a cruciate ligament injury put him out of action for nine months. He was loaned to Luton Town. and signed for AFC Wimbledon.

Derek Asamoah

Derek signed for Northampton Town as a pro in 2003, aged 19. A talented centre forward, he moved to Shrewsbury FC in 2006 and signed for French Club Nice in 2007. Derek has played in Scotland for Hamilton Academical, in Bulgaria for Lokomotiv Sofia and then South Korea playing for Pohang Steelers and Daegu FC.


Joe Devera

Joe Devera joined Barnet FC from Protec three years ago. Joe won Barnet's Player of the Year award in 2008 for consistently excellent performances in defence. He is good in the air and rarely, if ever, outpaced, having won the title of fastest man at the Club after a series of sprint races. He made a total of 177 appearances for Barnet FC. Joe signed for Swindon in the summer 2011 as his career as a professional player continues to inspire others.


Chris Casey

Chris Casey spent a year at Protec and signed to Tottenham Hotspur FC in 2007. The Watford-born defender "enjoys the buzz of doing well and winning games". Chris is currently playing with Dunstable FC.

Luke Medley

Luke started playing football at school and as he progressed through the Sunday Leagues he started thinking seriously about taking the first step towards a professional football career. He joined Protec and began to get noticed by football clubs. He was soon offered trials at Watford FC and Reading FC, His third trial was with Tottenham Hotspur FC and after three days he was signed up with a contract.

Nick Salapatas

Protecs Nick Salapatas signed a professional contract with conference league leaders Stevenage Borough. He is now playing in Greece for Paniliakos Pyrgos.

Warren McBean

Warren spent three years at Protec before signing for Barnet FC. An inventive, skilful striker who loves to run at defenders. Warren’s good form for Barnet at youth level saw him promoted to the first team squad that won the Football Conference Championship in 2005. He moved to Farnborough Town in search of a starting place, spending a season there before joining Sutton United in October 2006, where he was their leading scorer for two seasons. Warren signed for Bromley in June 2008 and is now playing with Welling Utd.


Ajet Shehu

Londoner Ajet Shehu applied for a National BTEC Sports Course at Southgate College and it was suggested he trial for the Protec Academy due to his football skills. He got through his trials and was accepted into the Academy. After playing just one game in his position of Centre Half, Ajet was offered trials at three different clubs - Reading FC, Watford FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC.


Ben Long

Ben Long signed a 2 year Professional Contract for Scottish Premier League Club Hearts. Formerly a Protec U18 player, Ben played his part in a recent match for the Hearts U19 side.

Elliot Charles

Elliot spent two years at Protec before signing a two year contract with Barnet FC and made several first team appearances. Elliot has also played for the Grenada National Team.

Kezie Ibe

Kezie Ibe was a talented young football player who was with Arsenal FC Academy from age 11 to 15. After a break from football he joined Protec Football Academy and flourished. He was signed by Bournmouth, has played with Canvey Island, Chelmsford City, Ebbsfleet United, Farnborough and is currently with Eastbourne Borough. To date Kezie has made over 300 appearences scoring around 100 goals.

Adam Peck

Goalkeeper in the Academy team, and subsequently came through to the first team before transferring to Chipstead FC. Returned to Croydon Athletic this season.


Danny Waldren

Part of successful Academy team, progressed to Croydon Athletic first team, transferring to Chipstead FC and subsequently back to Croydon Athletic.


Nathan Green

Came through the Academy at Croydon Athletic to the first team before transferring to Lewes in the Conference South.
