  • Development of your individual technique
  • Core skills
  • Set pieces
  • Strategies and techniques
  • Specialist training methods for outfield players
  • Specialist training for goalkeepers
  • Pre-season training
  • Anaerobic exercise and plymetrics
  • Introduction to Sports Nutrition
  • Key skills

During the season Protec Football Development School sets up showcase coached games against professional sides behind closed doors. These games are for the players with the best attitude and potential who apply themselves on and off the pitch.

All Protec Football Development School courses offer the opportunity to develop a career in professional football and be well placed for a career outside the game.

Protec Football Development School offers three course options in 2008/9:

Course Option 1

Places candidates with proven football ability into a strong educational environment in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Candidates who are pursuing courses at GCSE level and have five predicted grades of A to C, will be able to enter an established sixth form where they can choose from a range of AS/A Level subjects as well as a Level Three course in BTEC Sport, which are both one and two year courses. Students who complete a two year course will have the opportunity to accumulate sufficient UCAS points to apply for university or college courses.

Course Option 2

Places candidates with proven football ability at our new education centre based in Southgate, North London London where boys will attend and study qualifications in BTEC Sport Level 2 and 3. To enter potential candidates will need predicted grades of four Ds including English. Again at Level 3 students are able to gain UCAS points to apply for University or College courses.

Course Option 3

This is open to candidates living in South London and surrounding areas. Students will join a successful existing programme in South Croydon offering BTEC Sport at Level 2 and 3. Entry requirements are predicted grades A to D at GCSE including English. Again at Level 3 students are able to gain UCAS points to apply for University or College courses.
