Protec Sport football
development school
announced a new centre opening in the Middlesex area in
August 2008 this is for boys living in the East and
North London areas. Courses are offered at level two and
three BTEC in sport apply now on our applications page
Protec academy are delighted to announce a brand new
football and education initiative starting in august 08,
running in partnership with a school in Hertfordshire
and two further education colleges in North and South
London giving options to all players at what ever
academic level of achievement.
Option 1
This will involve placement of boys with proven
football ability in a top class educational
environment that offers the opportunity to develop a
career in either field. The school is based in St Albans .
Boys currently perusing courses at GCSE level who have
predicted grades of five A to C will be able to enter
an established sixth form and here they will be able
to chose from a range of AS/A level subjects as well
as a level three course in BTEC sport these are
both one and two year courses . Students who
complete a two year course will have the opportunity
to accumulate sufficient UCAS points to apply for
university or college courses.
Transport to and from various points in London on the
school bus make it easier to travel directly to the
school for a small cost per term if required.
Option 2
This will involve the placement of boys again with proven
football ability at our new education centre based in
North London, here boys will attend and study
qualifications in BTEC sport level 2 and 3
to enter you will need predicted grades of four Ds
including English, and again at level 3 you are able
to gain UCAS points to take you onto university
or college courses.
Option 3
This is for all boys living in the South London and
surrounding
areas, who will join a successful existing programme running
in
our Croydon centre offering again BTEC sport at level 2 and
3
with entry requirements are predicted grades A to D at GCSE
including English, with as above UCAS points to take you
onto university or college courses..
Whichever educational route is best suited to a student
their
acceptance onto a combined football/educational course will
be dependant upon their ability to demonstrate sufficient
footballing talent and willingness to be
coached. All students should be aware that their academic
course work and attendance must be at an acceptable
level before selection for games. Protec teams
represent a number of clubs and institutions ranging from
non league to professional. All boys will have the
opportunity
to represent Protec in the respective leagues and national
competitions.
